In the 1970's Nurse Isabelle Dickens, RN, PA, MFT, began her medical missionary journeys to the African continent.  Her mission was to teach basic hygiene, first-aid, nutrition, and biblically-based principles.  Little did she know that her mission would last for more than 25 years.  The African nations called her, "The One Who Returns."  

 

In 1986 she formed El Shaddai Enterprises and founded The Better Living and Wellness Center (now Better Living Center Headquarters) in Los Angeles County for the purpose of teaching underprivileged and underserved citizens the same life-saving principles she taught in Africa.  It is with this amazing legacy the administrators of BLCH now serve the communities of Southern California.
